History Wall – Pictures and other memorabilia reflecting life at St James over the years are being collected and will be displayed throughout the year beginning in April 2013. We plan to change the “wall” as new items are received. Anniversary Weekend (Looking Back) – On Saturday, June 1st, at 7:30 p.m. the Elliot Lake Men of Song will entertain us. Come out and listen to their wonderful variety of sacred, secular and barbershop music. A free will offering will be collected. On Sunday, June 2nd, we will hold the ‘official’ anniversary service when we will take time to reflect on our past and what we have learned. There will be special music provided by our choir and a cake to share.

Anniversary Weekend (Looking Forward) – The weekend of September 21st and 22nd will be the highlight of our year. On the Saturday evening, we will host a dinner (6:00 p.m.) and variety night (7:30 p.m.) featuring members of the congregation as well as the surrounding community in music, song and laughter. Special Guest Speaker: On Sunday, September 22nd, we will hear from the Very Reverend David Giuliano former Moderator and current minister for St. John’s United Church in Marathon. Reverend Giuliano will talk to us about looking ahead to the future. He brings a perspective based on his time as Moderator travelling across Canada talking with and listening to many diverse groups as well as years offering ministry to rural, northern communities such as ours. October Event: To complete our celebration, we will be entertained by the Orillia Silver Band on November 3rd, both to add their colourful music to our service and to provide a community concert at 1:30 in the afternoon. This will be the last in the series of events celebrating St James Centennial’s 150th anniversary so be sure to mark it in your calendar and plan to be here to add your voice to the celebration.
